This front entry now has a classical portico. A triangular pediment with a copper-edged roof rests on two round white columns, framing a stained wood door with glass sidelights. The portico floor is brick with a stone edge, one step up from the yard.

A herringbone brick walk with a light stone border leads straight to the step, and boxwoods and a pair of stone urns stand on either side. The white trim of the portico matches the painted brick and blue shutters of the house, so it reads as part of the original front. The roof gives shelter at the door in rain or snow.
