Home Addition in Rye, NY

The sunroom has a bluestone floor, painted paneled walls and French doors on three sides under a ceiling fan. The bedroom rises to a pitched tongue-and-groove ceiling crossed by painted beams, with arched windows, a pair of French doors and a stone fireplace with a wood mantel shelf.

In the dining room, a fieldstone fireplace sits between two windows, with white panel molding on the walls and hardwood underfoot. The living room has a long run of windows, wainscoting and the same hardwood floor. Outside, a tall fieldstone chimney rises against white clapboard. Stone, white trim and wood repeat from room to room, so the spaces read as one house, and the sunroom and bedroom each take daylight from more than one wall.
